Ted's Vision

Raleigh has been a great place for me and my family for over twenty years. Raleigh has grown, matured, and become an exciting and vibrant place to live.

Position Statements

Growth and Development

Let’s Acknowledge Raleigh's continued growth, and the potential for positive benefits from wisely directed, well planned development to promote prosperity and economic heath for all.

Transit

We need more transit, sooner. Transit offers alternatives to cars. Transit is green. Transit allows broader access to those who need alternative means of mobility.

Open Space

There are many kinds of open space that make for a great City. Each decision that we make, from the planting of street trees along a sidewalk to building a new park or greenway, has a positive impact on our quality of life.

Dorothea Dix Campus

The campus offers a tremendous opportunity for a new resource, not only for our district, but for the City and region.

Inclusive Leadership

District D is perhaps the richest tapestry of individuals, neighborhoods, institutions, and places in Raleigh.

Public Safety

When any members of our community feel threatened or unsafe, we all pay the price.

About Ted

Ted Van Dyk has lived and worked in Raleigh's District D for the better part of twenty-five years as a student, architect, business owner, and community volunteer.
