Open Space:
There are many kinds of open space that make for a great City. Each decision that we make, from the planting of street trees along a sidewalk to building a new park or greenway, has a positive impact on our quality of life.
For District D, we are fortunate to have such resources as Pullen Park, NC State’ Campus, Jaycee Park, Carolina Pines Park, lakes Johnson and Wheeler, and other great resources all within our purview.
As new development is proposed, consideration of open space and green amenities should be mapped and included. Our comprehensive plan, for the first time, will have a Greenprint’. This map will show our intentions for creating and preserving green space as part of our fabric.
